Last week, I had the once in a life-time opportunity to photograph at the Atlanta Premiere of Red Tails. The Tom Joyner Morning Show and Kiss 104.1 hosted an amazing event and concert at the Rialto, that honored the Tuskegee Airmen and celebrated the opening of the new movie Red Tails (2012), produced by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation (as Twentieth Century Fox), Lucasfilm, Partnership Pictures, and directed by Anthony Hemingway.
“Red Tails,” starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, NeYo, Tritan Wilds and Elijah Kelley, is based on the Tuskegee Airmen, African-Americans who served in a segregated unit during World War II. They were college-educated men focused on other careers until they were called to duty under the guidance of Col. A.J. Bullard.
The event had performances by Singer Ashanti, R&B group SWV, and Singer Estelle among others, as well as appearances by Rapper T.I. and ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta‘ cast member Phaedra Parks.
It was an exciting early morning event, and I had a blast capturing both photographs and video.
