Paola & Benny: A Jewish Wedding to Remember!

Paola & Benny: A Jewish Wedding to Remember!

I had the privilege of working with Paola and Benny for what is now my second Jewish Wedding. Paola was referred to me by my friend and previous co-worker at the AJC, Jose Navaro. It was actually a cool reunion of sorts with some old co-workers at the AJC, as not only does Benny and Paola work together at the AJC (where they met), but many of their friends, who I used to work with were in attendance!

Paola and Benny were married at Ahavath Achim Synagogue in Atlanta. It was a late wedding on the Sabbath, but it had a mix of old and what I would consider new traditions. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and the reception afterward was one to remember!

We took advantage of every moment we had before the ceremony as we knew that following the nuptials, it was time to party! Both the bride and groom were excited and ready to take this step together as a married couple.

There were so many interesting and beautiful traditions and moments to catch throughout the ceremony. And while I’ve photographed a Jewish wedding before, there is always something new and unique to learn about and document. Following the ceremony we did family pictures and this was one big family! After all the family shots the bride and groom were ready to get their party on!

One thing I truly enjoyed about this wedding was the way they partied! Everyone was up dancing and it was one of the most colorful wedding receptions I’ve ever experienced. The longer the music played and the more activities that happened the more open people were to having their picture taken and I felt like not only was I photographing their wedding, but I was also part of it!

This wedding was during daylight savings, so when the bride and groom were off to their honeymoon, we finally packed up and found ourselves on the road around 3:30AM! Never have I been to a wedding where the party went on like this, but man was it fun!

Congratulations Paola and Benny! Here’s to a beautiful wedding, a beautiful couple and a long happy life together!

  1. I would love to feature this wedding on my website. It’s a wedding taking place over the holiday of Purim and it would make a fabulous feature. Please let me know your thoughts. Your images are wonderful and I’d love to be able to showcase them. Thank you, Michele Schwartz, The Modern Jewish Wedding.com
